Intraoperative Electrodiagnostic Monitoring with SSEP and EMG
For some surgeries,  the surgeon will monitor electrical function of the nerves and spinal cord during the course of the operation. The SSEP – somatosensory evoked potential – waveform on the screen monitors sensory function. The motor side of the nervous system can be monitored with EMG – electromyography.
